Lichen planopilaris (LPP) is an inflammatory condition that causes patchy hair loss, mainly on the scalp. It is a form of lichen planus that most often affects women in young adulthood. There are 3 forms of LPP, distinguished by specific patterns and locations of symptoms: classic LPP, frontal fibrosing alopecia, and Lassueur Graham-Little Piccardi syndrome.
