The presence of whitish patches on the mucosal surface of the cervix. Histologic examination reveals hyperkeratosis. In a minority of cases, underlying dysplasia or carcinoma in situ is present. The disease is uterine cervix leukoplakia (Monarch Disease Ontology entry MONDO_0004702).
