Hydrolyzes the ester bond of the fatty acyl group attached at the sn-2 position of phospholipids (phospholipase A2 activity), the catalytic efficiency decreasing in the following order: phosphatidylglycerols > phosphatidylethanolamines > phosphatidylcholines > phosphatidylserines (PubMed:11112443).
